Antoinette Gefroh's Obituary
Antoinette Gefroh, 83, Drake, ND died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey, ND.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31 at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Drake, ND.
Visitation will be Monday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church. Prayer services will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the church.
Burial will be at a later date at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery of Mandan, ND.
Antoinette was born on October 22, 1930 in Page, Minnesota. She was the daughter of Chester and Ann (Counter) Fischer. She grew up and attended school in Onamia, MN and graduated from high school there. Antoinette lived in Ham Lake, MN and worked in the Twin Cities. She married Edward J. Gefroh on January 18, 1963 in Watertown, SD. They lived in the Twin Cities, Onamia, Backus, MN and Las Vegas before moving to Anamoose and then later to Drake, ND.
Antoinette received her teaching certificate at Bemidji State University in 1983 and taught at the Green House Child Care Center in Walker, MN. She was also a substitute teacher in the Drake Public School District. Antoinette was a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church of Drake.
Antoinette loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Antoinette was a very giving person. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Antoinette is survived by her husband of fifty years, Edward Gefroh of Drake; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Steve Whalen of Cass Lake, MN; sons, Duane and his wife, Terri Aukes of Spring Lake Park, MN, Greg Aukes of Long Lake, MN; sister, Barbara Ingalls of Isanti, MN; three grandchildren, Jacob Whalen, Steven (Christen) Whalen, and Elizabeth (John) Conant; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Antoinette was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Merlyn Fischer.
Antoinette passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at St. Aloisius Hospital of Harvey.
May Antoinette's soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
