Ann Marie Selzler, 86, Harvey, ND died on Monday, May 11, 2020 at her home. The private funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 15 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND. The funeral will be livestreamed on YouTube accessed from Ann's obituary link or at https://youtu.be/U7G7Ptb8R_c
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 14 at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Ann was born on August 17, 1933 in Rugby, North Dakota. She was the daughter of George and Theresa (Kuntz) Bachmeier. Ann grew up and attended country school near Orrin, North Dakota. On October 20,1953 she married Steve J. Selzler at the Fulda Catholic Church. They purchased the Selzler farmstead near Martin and farmed until 1996. Ann took an active part in the dairy farming operation whether it was milking cows or working in the field. On the farm she enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking German foods, listening to polka music, playing cards, spending time with her grandchildren. Ann enjoyed ice fishing in her younger years alongside her husband Steve. She loved traveling south to Mercedes, Texas during the long winters for 17 years, where she was a member of the Red Hat Society. Ann wasn't a big sports fan, except for when she cheered for her Minnesota Twins. She enjoyed playing golf, painting, crocheting, and sewing quilts.
Ann was a former member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Anamoose until moving to Harvey and then she became a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
Ann is survived by children: Ron (Pauline) Selzler of Knox, Don (Tonja) Selzler of Bismarck, Duane (Chris) Selzler of Clermont, Florida, Elaine (Steven) Mitzel of St. Cloud, Minnesota, Clinton (Debbie) Selzler of Harvey, Sheila (Mike) Senger of Rugby, Kenny (Cindy) Selzler of Harvey, Steve Allen Selzler of Martin; 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren; sisters Phyllis Bichler of Monroe, Washington, Helen Wienecke of Damascess, Oregon, Carol Dresser of Cordova, Tennessee; brother Nick Bachmeier of Rugby ND. Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Steve; brothers; Adam Bachmeier, August Bachmeier; sisters, Cecilia Heilman, Betty Schneider, and Mary Held.
