Angela M. Jacobson, 47 of Minot died unexpectedly on Friday, June 25, 2021, at the St. Aloisius Hospital in Harvey.
Sharing of memories with Family & close Friends will be held at Hertz Funeral Home on Thursday evening, July 1 st , 2021, from 6:30 pm to 8:00pm. Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 2, 2021, at Faith Lutheran Church, Harvey, ND. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Angela was born on August 4, 1973, in Crosby, ND. She was baptized at Concordia Lutheran Church in Crosby. She loved her breakfasts with her Papa, Grandpa Mervin. Papa & Angela had a special bond. And loved her lunches with her Grandma Beverly, whom she had an incredibly special bond with. She spent many months as a young child, doctoring & in hospitals. She got well & did good in school & was a good student! She worked with Grandma Beverly at St Luke's Hospital in Crosby as a housekeeper as a teenager. Her & Grandma Beverly had many giggles together. As a child in Williston, she was active in Campfire Girls. She enjoyed it & made many friends.
She spent the first 2 years of her life in Crosby. She lived in various ND towns & in Tigard, Oregon. She lived in Harvey, ND the summer before college & Minot, ND is where she made her home when she finished with college. She graduated from Minot High School in 1992. Angela worked at Kinder Bears in Harvey the summer before college. She loved her job & all the kids liked Angela! She attended various Lutheran churches in the areas she lived. She read her bible & talked with Jesus daily! In the fall, Angela attended Minot State University receiving a Legal Secretary Degree. After college, she worked various jobs. Angela started a part time business, Nightlife Flower Company, selling roses in the bars. Angela & her friend, Connie, were known as the Rose Ladies. They had lots of fun promoting romance! Giving your sweetheart a rose when you took her out to wine & dine her, was well received by many! Angela decided to work road construction with her mother for several years. She was a flagger & drove pilot car. She decided to go back to Minot working closer to home. Angela accepted a job at Express Mart as a cashier & worked there through 2 owners & for thirteen years. Angela began taking a few classes at MSU & accepted a job she as a cashier at Cash Wise in Minot. After her classes, she continued her work at Cash Wise. Angela was the recipient of the Minot Chamber Eagle Award for exhibiting excellent customer service in February 2019.
When her mother got sick, she drove her mother, Marlys, to & from the doctor appointments when her stepfather was working. It gave Mother & Daughter quality time together & many giggles were shared together on the road trips. Then Angela got sick & needed to take care of her own medical issues back home in Minot. She continued to work & go to her medical appointments. She lived in an apartment in Minot with her cat Zoey.
She loved her nieces & nephew with all her heart as if they were her own children & would go out of her way to put smiles on their faces! She made it a point to take time off work for their birthdays!
Angela is survived by her parents, Marlys and Mike Aljets of Harvey; brother, James (John) Nelson of Harvey; nieces Kylee and Taylor Nelson; nephew Landon Nelson; aunts, Shirley (Arley) Binde of Fortuna, Diane "Dede" (Kent) Haugland of Crosby, and Rita (Brian) Grote of Crosby; Grandpa Bob Aljets of Harvey, Aunt Julie (Aljets) Rosendahl of Esmond; uncles: Steve (Teresa) Aljets of Harvey, Jason (Andschana) Aljets of Calhan, CO, Special Friends: Aunty Karen Nelson (McDonough, Georgia), Uncle Tim Nelson (Lignite), Collin & Kimberly Nelson (Minot) & numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death: Mervin & Beverly Jacobson (Grandpa & Grandma) Crosby, Idor & Mabel Jacobson (Great Grandpa & Grandma) Crosby, Justin Haugland (Cousin)Crosby, Emil Westby (Norway)& Edith Anderson-Westby (Fargo) (Great Grandpa & Grandma) & Connie Aljets of Harvey (Grandma) & Special Friends: Uncle Roger Nelson (McDonough, Georgia), Uncle Darrell Nelson (Billings, Montana) & Grandpa & Grandma Johnny & Edna Nelson (Lignite).
