Alvin Hartman, 94, of Bismarck formerly of Goodrich, ND went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at the Sanford Hospital, Bismarck.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26 at the Century Baptist Church, Bismarck with Pastor Ethan Johnson officiating.

Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Goodrich City Cemetery.

Visitation for the public will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alvin was born on November 9, 1922 to John and Emma (Hirshkorn) Hartman at Goodrich, ND. He worked hard as a young man.  He met the love of his life, Delores Schneider in December of 1943.  They were married on June 25, 1944.  Together they ran a family farming operation southwest of Goodrich.  Life was busy for them with milking cows, planting a large garden and raising many crops.  Alvin and his wife Delores had four children, Darvin (Lois) of Bismarck, Darrell (Julie) of Goodrich, Gary of Wilton and Sharee Clooten of Bismarck.  In 1974 they moved to Goodrich where he drove school bus for 13 years.  Alvin was active in the Church of God for many years.  In 1997, he and Delores moved to Bismarck where he enjoyed spending time with family and friends.  Alvin attended the Century Baptist Church faithfully until his death.

Alvin leaves behind his wife of 73 years, Delores; 4 children; 5 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Lillian Gerlitz of Mesa, AZ.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond and brother-in-law, Ervin Gerlitz.
