Alvin Fix 74, Harvey, ND died Friday May 31, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Hospital of Harvey.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Anthony Catholic Church of Selz on Monday June 3, 2013 at 10:30 a.m.

Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Prayer Services will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Cemetery of Harvey.

Alvin was born on November 19, 1938 near Selz. He was the son of Joseph P. and Barbara (Schmaltz) Fix. He grew up and attended school near Selz. Alvin married Frances Ripplinger on April 9, 1958 in Rugby. They lived in Harvey. Alvin worked for Bentz Implement and owned and operated Fix Diesel and Repair in Harvey. They moved to Warroad, MN in 1992 and both worked at Marvin Windows and Doors retiring in 2006. They returned to Harvey in October 2007. Frances died on November 6, 2008. Alvin married Mary Roerick on May 14, 2010 in Harvey. They lived north of Selz. Alvin and Mary spent several winters in Arizona.

Alvin was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church of Selz and was also a member of the Wells Eagles Aerie 3080 in Harvey. Alvin was a past and honorary member of the Harvey City Volunteer Fire Department.

Alvin enjoyed fishing, playing cards, gardening and visiting with his many friends.

Alvin is survived by his wife, Mary of Selz; step children, Kim (Kenny) Martin of Ulysses, KS, Dayna (Neil) Strecker, Fargo, Connie (Kevin) Connor of Moorhead, MN; 12 Step-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Fix of Lynnwood, WA; Sisters, Angie Goldade of Minot, Marlene Ripplinger, Harvey. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Frances.
