Obituary

Alvin Felchle, 86, Harvey, ND died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the St. Aloisius Medical Center, Harvey, ND. Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday May 14, 2010 at Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church, Harvey. Visitation will be Thursday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Alvin Felchle was born on July 7, 1923 near Goodrich, North Dakota. He was the son of Fred B. and Barbara (Mauch) Felchle. He attended grade school and high school in Goodrich. Alvin was a farm laborer for several years. He married Ellnor Gaarder on March 30, 1946 in McClusky. The first five years of their marriage they lived on farms in the Goodrich area. They moved to Harvey on October 6, 1951. Alvin went to work for the City of Harvey and later Ralph Nelson and Nelson Elevator in Harvey. He then helped build grain elevators and worked on building missile sites. He began working for the Soo Line Railroad on August 13, 1956 and worked on the bridge building gang. He was injured on the job in 1979. He went on disability and retired in 1982. Alvin spent the last few years of his life living at St. Aloisius Nursing Home in Harvey where he had become very fond of the staff and residents. The St. Aloisius Staff's treatment of Alvin resulted in his being very content and happy in his last days. His family was very appreciative of that. Alvin was a member of the Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church and the Wells Eagles Aerie in Harvey. He enjoyed visiting with friends over coffee or at Miller's Clothing in Harvey. Ellnor died on July 19, 2004. Alvin is survived by one daughter, Neila Stotts of Seattle, WA, five grandchildren Lisa Boisjalie, Kevin Boisjolie,Shannon Felchle, Stacey Felchle, Stormy Felchle; brother Gordon and his wife Martha of Goodrich, ND. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ellnor on July 19, 2004 and son, Stanley on July 11, 1980.
