Alice Wiest, 87, of Harvey, ND died Monday, March 21, 2016 at the St. Aloisius Hospital, Harvey.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 26 at Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church, Harvey.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Harvey, ND.
Alice Marjorie Alveshere was born on December 2, 1928 in Harvey, ND. She was the daughter of Bert "Tanner" and Ingebor (Hove) Alveshere. Alice grew up and attended country school southeast of Harvey. She worked at the St. Aloisius Hospital in the dietary department for a time. Alice married Leo Wiest on April 14, 1951 in Alabama where Leo was serving in the military. They lived in Harvey where she was a homemaker until the children completed their schooling. Alice then began working at the Americana Motel in Harvey as a house keeper and worked there for twenty years before retiring. Leo died on September 2, 1994.
Alice was a member of the Trinity Bethany Lutheran Church and its ladies aid in Harvey. Her hobbies were crocheting, word find puzzles, and quilting. Alice loved baking, cooking and canning.
Alice is survived by her son, Gary Wiest of Fessenden; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Joel Wack of Bismarck; one granddaughter, Michelle (Eric) Dittus; one great-granddaughter, Alissa Dittus all of Bismarck; brother, Kermit (Florence) Alveshere of Moorhead, Minnesota.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leo; brothers, Lester and Arthur; sisters, Caroline Gilfus and Lena Thomas.
