Alice Volk, 83, Harvey, ND died Friday, Feb. 15, 2013 at the St. Aloisius Nursing Home, Harvey.

Funeral mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 19 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey, ND.

Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary Service at 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.

Alice was born on May 25, 1929 on the family farm near Selz, ND. She was the daughter of Emanuel and Rose (Kraft) Fettig. She grew up on the family farm near Selz and attended rural school. Alice married Daniel Volk on September 27, 1948 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Selz. They lived and farmed in the Harvey area. They retired in 1993 and moved into Harvey.

Alice enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, quilting and crocheting. She was an avid pinochle player. She also loved to entertain and would treat family and friends to chocolate chip cookies, kuchen, home canned goods and German cooking.

Alice was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Harvey Veterans Of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Harvey Senior Citizens.

Alice is survived by her husband, Daniel; daughter, JoAnn (Corey) Flick of Burlington; two sons, Robert (Marie) of Harvey and Wayne of Santa Barbara, CA; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four sisters, Florence Selensky of Anaconda, MT, Mary Burgard of Page, ND, Regina Fetzer of Jamestown, Julie Sullivan of Des Moines, Iowa; four brothers, Joe Fettig of Minneapolis, Emanuel Fettig of Fargo, David Fettig of Bloomfield, Colorado, John Fettig of Dallas, Texas.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; son Richard; brothers, Edward, Edmund, Adam, Herbert and Louie; and dying in infancy were siblings Joseph, Rosina and Maria.
