Alan D
Reiswig
April 26, 1967 – December 30, 2020
Alan Reiswig, 53, rural Goodrich, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at his farm. Funeral services will be held on Friday January 8, 2021 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church of Goodrich at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Goodrich City Cemetery.
Alan was born on April 26, 1967 in Bismarck, North Dakota. He was the son of Allen and June (Bodewin) Reiswig. Alan grew up on the family farm south west of Goodrich. He attended school in Goodrich and graduated from Goodrich High School in 1985. Alan and Lucinda Leier lived in Florida briefly before moving back to the family farm. They were married August 22, 1990 in Bismarck, ND. His girls were his pride and joy. Alanna was born March 6, 1991 and Amelia was born March 24, 1997. He farmed and ranched with his parents until they retired in 1996. Alan and Lucinda managed the farm until 2008. Alan continued ranching until the time of his death. Alan also worked at the ASCS office in McClusky and for Premium Gold Flax.
Alan always took care of his wife Lucinda. He designed and built raised garden beds by hand in their backyard so she could continue gardening. He liked finding interesting rocks and deer sheds while farming, raising cattle, and hunting with his dog "Buster Douglas". Alan also enjoyed fishing, and restoring vintage snowmobiles. He was a great storyteller that loved to make people smile, and he could remember even the smallest details.
Alan is survived by his wife, Lucinda of Goodrich; daughters, Alanna (Dorian) Rohweller of Bismarck, North Dakota, Amelia Reiswig (Carter) of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandson, Sullivan Rohweller; mother, June Reiswig, Walla Walla, Washington; sisters, Gail (Milo) Stolz of Walla Walla, Washington, Valerie (Bob) Ross of Parker, Colorado. Alan was preceded in death by his father, Allen and grandparents William and Lydia Bodewin.
