Agatha, known as "Aggie", was born April 8, 1936 to John Miller and Catherine Miller (Fischer) in Orrin ND where she attended school and was raised on the family farm. Aggie drove a horse drawn school bus and worked at the Harvey Hospital prior to marrying Leo Volk November 4, 1957 in Orrin. Leo and Aggie worked side by side on their farm while raising their three children in Selz, ND. Aggie enjoyed many happy days camping, fishing, and traveling with her young family. She and Leo traveled in their motor home and spent several winters in Arizona during their retirement.
Aggie enjoyed tending to her large vegetable garden and flowers every summer. Aggie enjoyed crafts such as needle point, cross stitch, crocheting, and sewing. She sewed several garments for her children as they grew. Her family will cherish the afghans and other needlework that were specially made for each. Cooking was also a favorite pastime and many of her recipes continue to be included at each family gathering.
Their home was always available for family get togethers where Aggie relished the happy moments hosting their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her family is left with cherished memories of the farm in Selz and condo in Bismarck. Aggie even hosted a couple of COVID-19 family "garage visits" with one including the great grandchildren to include masks, social distancing, and drawing/coloring/crafts.
Aggie's family will always remember her strong Catholic faith. She was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Selz where she served on the Catholic Daughters group. She was later a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Harvey and Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Bismarck.
