Adeline Schindler, 97, McClusky, ND died Friday, December 30, 2022 at the Turtle Lake Community Memorial Hospital, Turtle Lake, ND.  Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God Church of McClusky on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.  Visitation will be held at the Hertz Funeral Home of McClusky on Friday, January 6, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery of Mandan on Monday,  January 9 with the time yet to be determined.  Please refer to this site for update to the time.

Adeline was born on October 27, 1925 in Denhoff, ND.  She was the daughter of John and Rose (Gehring) Reule.  She grew up on the family farm near Denhoff and attended rural school.  Adeline married Orville Schindler on October 25, 1946 in McClusky.  She taught rural school near McClusky for several years.  They lived and farmed northeast of McClusky.  Orville passed away on July 5, 2011.

Adeline was a member of the Assembly of God Church in McClusky and its women's group.  She was a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent.  She was also a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years in McClusky.  Adeline enjoyed gardening, patching, and was an avid reader of the Bible.  Adeline enjoyed the experience of being the wife of a state legislator making new friends over the years.

Adeline is survived by her son, Terry (De'Etta) Schindler of McClusky; daughter, Bonnie Dawson of Hermosa, SD; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Deloris Kludt and Ella Schutt; brothers, Alfred, Chester, Herbert, Floyd, and Melvin Reule; son-in-law, Jon Dawson.
