Dorinda Johnson 61 of Minot died Wednesday January 1, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Lord Of Life Lutheran Church, Bismarck, ND. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the services at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Bismarck. Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey, ND.
Dorinda was born on June 2, 1952 in Goodrich. She was the daughter of Walter and Betty (Papke) Dockter. She grew up and attended school in Goodrich and graduated from Goodrich High School. Dorinda moved to Bismarck and married Terry Johnson on May 27, 1972 in Bismarck. They moved to Mohall in 1975 and then to Minot in 2003. While living in Minot she worked as a office manager for LaFleur and Sons Gaming. Dorinda was a member of the Moose Lodge in Minot. She was also member of the North Dakota Horse Shoe Pitchers Association and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1998. Dorinda and her son Damion were state champions as well as her son Nick. She loved to bowl, fish, camping, play pool and bingo. Dorinda is survived by her husband, Terry Johnson of Minot; sons, Damion and Nick of Surrey; three grandchildren, Tyler, Abigayle, and Brandon; three brothers, Garland (Idella) Dockter of Helena, MT; Tim (Gail) Dockter of Bismarck, Burton of Bismarck; sisters, Karen Dockter of Bismarck, Joyce (David) Hinson of Tallahassee, FL, Rae (Dan) Evans of Bismarck.
