Leora Green 90 Bismarck formerly of Harvey died January 18, 2013 at the St. Vincent Nursing Home in Bismarck.

Funeral services will be held at the St. Vincent Nursing Home Chapel in Bismarck on Tuesday January 22, at 9:00 a.m.

Visitation will be held on Monday January 21, 2013 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home, Harvey.

Burial will be in the Chaseley City Cemetery, Chaseley, ND on Tuesday Jan. 22 at 1 p.m.

Leora was born on March 6, 1922 on the family farm south of Chaseley, ND. She was the daughter of Ira W. and Esther (Wright) Breakey. Leora grew up and attended school in the area. She married Leon Green on December 20, 1943 at Bowdon. They lived and farmed south of Bowdon. Leon died on December 23, 1981. Leora moved to Harvey in 1982. She worked at the St Aloisius Nursing Home as a nurse's aid and at the Harvey Bakery. Leora was a member of the United Methodist Church of Harvey. She moved to Bismarck in 2006. Leora entered the St. Vincent Nursing Home in 2012.

Leora enjoyed working alongside Leon on the farm. She loved to garden and she planted many types of flowers, her favorite being the sunflower. Leora’s favorite time of year was when spring came along with all the new baby farm animals. Leora nurtured many orphaned animals. Leora always had a kind word and a warm friendly smile for anyone she met.

Leora is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Loren and Debra Green of Bismarck; two grandchildren, Raquel Green of Fargo, Shane (Natalie) Green of Devils Lake, ND; two great-grandchildren Emily and Jack Green of Devils Lake.
