Rosie Johnson

Rosie Johnson, 101, McClusky, ND died Thursday December 13, 2012 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Turtle Lake.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at McClusky Baptist Church, McClusky, ND.

Burial will be in the McClusky City Cemetery.

Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Hertz Funeral Home, McClusky.

Rosie was born on July 13, 1911 on a farm near Kief, ND to John and Rosina (Huber) Kukert. She grew up and attended rural school near Kief. She was baptized at the Rosenfeld Baptist Church. Rosie married Henry Johnson on July 16, 1933 near McClusky. They moved to California where Rosie was a welder in the shipyards during World War II. After the war they returned to McClusky where she was a homemaker. Henry died on June 10, 1985.

Rosie was a member of the McClusky Senior Citizens and served on the Sheridan Wells County Aging Council for six years.

Rosie is survived by her daughter, Arlene (Richard) Braunberger of Goodrich; son, Terry (Dorinda) Johnson of Minot; 6 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Walter (Lorraine) Kukert of McClusky; sisters, Emma Herr of Garrison, Elsie (Sam) Reiswig of McClusky.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gerald; grandson, Richard; brothers, Bill and Albert; three sisters, Melita Johnson, Elvina Klingman and Alma Hagel.

Rosie will be missed by all.
